This is how to treat cracked feet at home

As we are closing in on winter, you might already feel a strange pull on your skin. The winter cold has a biting effect on the skin and this results in the cracking of your skin. Many women and men face the problem of cracked heels. While for most of them, it may not be a pressing issue, some might feel the pain of the cracked heels.



Many people are embarrassed to open their shoes to reveal their cracked heels. Cracked heels generally are a sign of ignoring your body’s hygiene. If the skin area does not have any oil glands, then cracking can be a real problem. If there is low moisturizing and if you are overexposed to pollution, it can aggravate. Plus, medical conditions like eczema, thyroid and psoriasis can also cause dry feet.

One of the reasons why this problem is so common is that we stand up for the most part of our life and our feet bears the entire body weight. About 20% of the U.S. population have cracked feet. The good news is, there is a homemade solution which can help reduce the cracks of a cracked feet:
 
Step 1: Treating with warm water

Ingredients:
  • Pumice Stone: 1
  • Salt: 2 spoons
  • Baking Soda: 2 spoons
  • Lukewarm water
Pour all of the water in a bathtub or bucket and add the salt and soda. Then, soak your feet for 15 minutes in the mixture. After that, rub it with pumice stone to remove the dry skin.
 
Step 2: Scrubbing

Ingredients:
  • Sugar: 1 spoon
  • Oil: 2 spoons

Add the sugar in the oil and then, put the concoction on the affected area for 5 minutes. Wash it off with fresh water.
 
Step 3: Moisturizer

Ingredients:
  • Candle
  • Oil

Add candle and oil in a bowl and pour it in warm water. After cooling, use it as a foot cream. Cover your feet with socks.
 
Step 4: Using banana

Mash two ripe bananas and rub is all over your feet, along with the toe nail beds and sides. Rinse feet after twenty minutes. Repeat for two weeks before bedtime. Banana has Vitamins B6, C and A and helps keep he skin hydrated.

Step 5: Lemon juice and Vaseline


Keep your feet soaked in warm water for about 20 minutes and then pat it dry. Add a teaspoon of Vaseline and 3-4 drops of lemon juice. Mix it all and then, apply it on the cracked spots. Use woolen socks to keep your feet protected. Do it regularly before bedtime. Vaseline moisturizes, while the citric acid in lemon sheds old skin and promotes skin regeneration.
 
Step 6: Epsom Salt

Add Epsom salt in warm water in a foot basin and soak the feet in it for fifteen minutes. Then, scrub out any dead skin cells. Do it 2-3 times a week. Epsom salt makes the skin soft and reduces any kind of inflammation while sulfates flush out any toxins and eases out the pain.
